brera floor lamp
Design Achille Castiglioni, 1992
Acid-etched blown glass, steel

Exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art, the Brera series was inspired by the Ostrich egg. The egg-shaped, opaline glass diffuser produces even light and is spaced into two parts to provide cooling and easy bulb access. Available in polished chrome in three sizes with foot switch on cord.

Achille Castiglioni's imaginative forms and simplistic designs have made him one of the most influential figures in Italian design. His works are represented in museums all over the world. MoMA in New York features 14 of his works. He has also been the recipient of numerous awards, including 9 Compasso d'Oro.

The Brera family is completed by the ceiling, table, wall and suspension lights.
